The 6 Best Wireless Earbuds For Android - Fall 2023 Reviews

Updated
Best Wireless Earbuds For Android

While wireless Bluetooth earbuds will work with any compatible Bluetooth-enabled device, there are some advantages to getting headphones designed with your OS in mind. Many wireless earbuds work best with iPhones and come with features like easier pairing or spatial audio, but what are the best wireless headphones for Android? It's always important to get earbuds that you find comfortable and enjoyable to listen to, but some Android-specific features are worth looking for, like a compatible app or low latency.

We've tested over 740 pairs of headphones, and below are our recommendations for the best wireless earbuds for Android. You can also check out our recommendations for the best wireless Bluetooth earbuds, the best cheap earbuds, and the best Samsung earbuds.

  1. Best Wireless Earbuds For Android

The Sony WF-1000XM5 Truly Wireless are the best earbuds for Android with a wireless design we've tested. Even though they don't offer many Android-exclusive features, they still have some tricks up their sleeve. These headphones support LDAC, which is Sony's hi-res audio codec, which allows you to stream your favorite tunes with better sound quality than the default SBC codec. They also support Google Quick Pair, making connecting these headphones to your Android device simple and easy.

Out of the box, they have a warm sound profile suitable for most kinds of audio. You can finetune their sound using their app's graphic EQ and presets. They're also noise cancelling (ANC) and use memory foam ear tips. Combining both helps block out a significant amount of background noise, but the ear tips are responsible for a large amount of isolation on their own. That said, not everyone will find them comfortable.

If you're looking for buds with a more comfortable fit, check out the Bose QuietComfort Earbuds II Truly Wireless. They have a shallower silicone tip, which puts less pressure on your ear canal. Their ANC can also block out more bass-range noise, which is good if you commute or travel a lot. However, unlike the Sony headphones, they don't support multi-device pairing, so you can't connect to more than one device at a time.

  2. Best Upper Mid-Range Wireless Earbuds For Android

If you want to spend a little less, check out the Sennheiser MOMENTUM True Wireless 3. They're another great set of earbuds with a good-quality build. They have a bass-heavy sound out of the box to bring out all the thump and punch in your audio. The treble is slightly veiled, but you can always adjust for this using its Android-compatible companion app, which includes a graphic EQ and presets for sound customization. With a battery life of around 8.5 hours, they're great for longer days on the go, and their case holds three extra charges if you need a top-up.

However, these headphones have fewer features than the Sony WF-1000XM5 Truly Wireless. They don't support LDAC, and their ANC feature doesn't block out as much ambient noise, so they aren't ideal for loud situations like commuting or walking on a busy street. However, the ANC still does an excellent job isolating you from unwanted disturbances. However, these earbuds aren't quite as comfortable as the Sony since their stability fins can pressure your ears.

If you want slimmer, less bulky earbuds, the Apple AirPods Pro (2nd generation) Truly Wireless are worth considering, even for Android users. While you can't take advantage of iOS-only features like Spatial Audio, they have a lighter, more compact design with a similar ANC performance to the Sennheiser. They're even among the best sounding wireless earbuds we've tested too. However, they aren't good for streaming video with an Android phone since they have higher latency.

  3. Best Mid-Range Wireless Earbuds For Android

The Google Pixel Buds Pro Truly Wireless are an even more affordable pick. These headphones are another great choice for Android users, and since they support multi-device pairing, you can pair them up to your phone and another device simultaneously. They last for nearly eight hours off a single charge, and their case holds nearly two additional charges to help you top up. Their battery performance falls short of the Sennheiser MOMENTUM True Wireless 3, and they don't have the same high-quality build as the more premium pick. Still, they offer a similar noise isolation performance, which is nice.

These headphones have a V-shaped sound profile, bringing extra emphasis to the treble and the bass. It's particularly well-suited for genres like rock and pop, and you can also switch it up with a graphic EQ and presets in the Android-compatible companion app. Unfortunately, these headphones have high latency with Android devices, so you might notice lag when you're streaming video. Another option, the Sony LinkBuds S Truly Wireless, are less expensive, offer similar ANC performance, and have lower latency. However, the Pixel Buds' default sound profile has more low bass and a better-balanced mid-range.

  4. Best Lower Mid-Range Wireless Earbuds For Android

The Anker Soundcore Space A40 Truly Wireless are a solid choice if you want something even more affordable. Despite a more budget-friendly price, their performance rivals the Google Pixel Buds Pro Truly Wireless' in many ways. Their adaptive ANC feature adjusts itself to your environment and does a fantastic job of cutting out a wide range of noise. Even with ANC on, they last for more than eight hours of continuous use, which is nice for long days at the office. Their case also holds four extra charges, and they support multi-device pairing.

These headphones have somewhat high latency with Android devices, so your audio and video might be out of sync if you watch a video on your phone. They're still a great pick for listening to music, as their warm sound profile is well-suited for genres like rock and jazz. Elements like voices and instruments lack clarity and detail, but their companion app includes customization features so you can adjust it to suit you. If you prefer a more stable stem design, you can check out the Anker Soundcore Liberty 4 NC Truly Wireless. They're a bit more expensive, though, and their ANC performance isn't quite as good as the A40.

  5. Best Budget Wireless Earbuds For Android

At the budget price point, the JBL Vibe Beam True Wireless are the best earbuds for Android that we've tested. While they don't have ANC like the Anker Soundcore Space A40 Truly Wireless, they stand out from other budget picks since they have a companion app, which is compatible with Android devices and offers a parametric EQ and presets so that you can finetune their already balanced sound to suit your tastes. That's about it for extra features.

They last over eight hours continuously, and their carrying case supplies an extra three charges if you need it. They also have an auto-off timer, which is handy if you forget to put them back in their case. They're well-built, too, but getting a good seal using them can be difficult, resulting in the buds falling out of your ears over time.

If you want more comfortable buds with an ANC system, consider the TOZO NC7 Truly Wireless instead. It's easier to get a good fit from them, and their ANC system can block out a great amount of background noise. However, they lack a companion app and have no sound customization features to adjust their sound.

  6. Best Wireless Earbuds For Samsung

If you're a Samsung user, you'll want to check out the Samsung Galaxy Buds2 Pro True Wireless. These buds have features unique to Samsung's ecosystem that you won't find anywhere else on this list. They support Seamless, which is Samsung's proprietary codec for improved audio quality, and they have a 'Game Mode' to help lower latency on mobile devices. Their ANC also offers a similarly excellent noise isolation performance as the Sennheiser MOMENTUM True Wireless 3, making them a solid choice for long commutes or shifts at the office. Unfortunately, with their ANC on, they have less than five hours of continuous battery life. If you need to top them up, their carrying case supplies roughly 2.6 extra charges.

Out of the box, they have a fairly flat and neutral sound profile that's well-suited for various audio content. You can also adjust their sound using their companion app's EQ presets. If you want to use them while working out, they have good build quality, stable fit, and are certified IPX7 for resistance against immersion in water.
